2015 Louie Awards Winners Announced by the American Advertising Federation - Louisville

Louisville’s premiere creative competition recognized 30 local companies and schools for outstanding work in the advertising industry

The American Advertising Federation – Louisville tonight announced the winners of the 2015 Louie Awards at  the 41st Annual Louie Awards Gala. The Louies is an annual creative competition for the Louisville-area advertising industry that provides advertisers, students, web developers and everyone in-between with the opportunity to showcase their best work. Thirty local companies, agencies and schools were recognized during the Gala, which was hosted at the Seelbach hotel.

The Louies are awarded in three categories – Gold, Silver, or Bronze. Winning a Louie is the first step in the three-tiered American Advertising Awards, the advertising industry's largest and most representative competition sponsored by the American Advertising Federation. Winners of Gold and Silver Louie Awards may next compete against winners from other local advertising clubs in one of 15 district competitions. District winners will be eligible to move to the third tier of the competition for a chance to be recognized on the national stage.

“The Louies provide an opportunity for Louisville’s robust advertising industry to come together and celebrate our very best work,” said Mary Gratzer, Executive Director of the AAF-Louisville. “Louisville has a vast pool of creative minds that produce outstanding work for clients that range from national brand to local nonprofits, and we are proud to recognize their many contributions to our industry.”

The AAF- Louisville received hundreds of entries in the Professional, Student, and Local Only Award categories. Judging for the 2015 Louie Awards is a two-step process that began at the end of 2014. The digital portion of the competition was judged remotely over the course of the holidays, and the remaining entries were judged in-person at Interactive Media Lab in downtown Louisville. This year’s digital judges included Burkey Belser of Greenfield/Belser Ltd., Zena Weist of Catholic Charities of Northeast Kansas, Edwin Endlich of IMC2, and Erin Lynn Young of Slide UX. Onsite judges were Carlotta Stankiewicz of GSD&M, Paul Asao of Red Ball Brands, and Scott Lindsey of Abstract Explosion.
