Meet the 2016 Louie Awards Winners

22 local companies and schools recognized in American Advertising Federation – Louisville’s premier creative competition

Louisville, Ky. – (February 26, 2016) – The American Advertising Federation – Louisville has announced the 2016 winners of The Louies. Local advertising and marketing professionals gathered tonight at an annual gala at the Muhammad Ali Center to honor this year’s winners. Twenty-two local companies, agencies and schools received awards in this year’s competition, which is Louisville’s premier creative competition providing advertisers, students, web developers and everyone in-between the opportunity to showcase their best work.

The Louies are awarded in three categories – Gold, Silver, or Bronze. Winning a Louie is the first step in the three-tiered American Advertising Awards, the advertising industry's largest and most representative competition sponsored by the American Advertising Federation. Winners of Gold and Silver Louie Awards may next compete against winners from other local advertising clubs in Kentucky, Ohio and West Virginia (District 5). District winners will be eligible to move to the third tier of the competition for a chance to be recognized on the national stage.

“We are so proud of the great creative work we saw entered in this year’s Louie competition,” said Mary Gratzer, Executive Director of the AAF-Louisville. “The winners seemed to be spread more evenly across more companies and agencies than in years’ past, which speaks for the wide array of advertising and marketing professionals right here in Louisville who provide outstanding work to a range of clients.”

Judging for The Louies is a two-step process. The digital portion of the competition was judged remotely, and the remaining entries were judged in-person at PriceWeber in Louisville. This year’s judges were Stan Byers, Creative Director at Stan Can Design; Timothy Cory, Associate Creative Director at SapientNitro; Solana Crawford, Creative Director at DESIGNaboutTOWN; Cameron Gnass, Creative Director at Traction; Sophia Latto, Principal, UX and Design Group at Blackbaud; Alan Shen, Associate Creative Director at Leo Burnett; and Michelle Tucker, Group Creative Director at HAVAS Worldwide.
