The Summer of Soccer work for el Jimador Tequila was an international campaign focused on getting soccer fans to share their favorite soccer moments during the World Cup and celebrate with el Jimador.
The campaign kicked off with a long form video featuring a soccer moment from legendary player Luis Hernandez. The animated video featured a playful hand drawn cell animation and encouraged fans to share their moments during the campaign. We also created a different mobile-friendly vertical video in the same animation style that was designed to spread the word and encourage people to share their moments.
We also partnered with Brooklyn illustrator, Mike Perry, known for his animation work done for Comedy Central’s Broad City. He created and designed custom jerseys that we gave away on social as part of the colorful campaign. The campaign also featured a website designed using the same vibrant animation styles from our videos. The site captured people’s soccer moments in video, audio and written form and provided a variety of drink recipes to enjoy during the World Cup.
The campaign received thousands of entries, helped grow brand awareness as determined by brand lift studies, and was featured in Adweek for its creativity.
