The American Printing House for the Blind (APH), a world leader in creating learning solutions and pathways to success for children and adults who are blind or visually impaired, is seeking a Consumer Engagement Specialist.
JOB DESCRIPTION
We are looking for a creative, detail-oriented marketing professional to build and maintain awareness of our products/services, our organization and its brand, and our mission in the field of blindness and vision impairment. Our Consumer Engagement Specialist will work closely with our product development teams, sales team, communications and creative team, and others, to assist the process of bringing new quota products to market. This position is focused on understanding our customers’ unique needs and will drive demand for our products through positioning and messaging.Our ideal candidate will have strong writing skills and the ability to develop engaging content that will build and maintain a positive image for our organization. APH’s Consumer Engagement Specialist will have experience developing and executing marketing campaigns, leveraging analytics, managing multiple projects, and collaborating as a cross-functional team member. They will also have the ability, motivation, and responsibility to represent our brand in a way that connects customers with the products and services they need to improve their lives and help positively shape the world’s attitude about the importance of learning equity.
The Consumer Engagement Specialist reports to the Senior Manager of Communications and Engagement. This position will work remotely until further notice. The candidate is expected to work onsite in the future.
Objectives of this Role:
Establish positioning, identify target audiences, and develop engagement plans for new APH products.
Facilitate the execution of engagement campaigns from start to finish, leveraging internal support and driving collaboration between members of APH’s educational product research, technical product research, outreach, communications and creative services, and sales teams.
Analyze customer insights, consumer trends, market analysis, and marketing best practices to build successful strategies, including reviewing all feedback obtained through field and expert testing of APH products.
Review and provide analytics reporting across multiple platforms, extracting key insights for future campaign development and go-to-market strategies, complete with formal proposals and recommendations on tactics.
Advocates for and assures the highest accessibility standards in all communication from APH.
Responsibilities include:
Participate in our new product development process, including working with product research team members, product managers and specialists, and others throughout the lifecycle of APH quota products.
Work in partnership with the Senior Manager of Communications and Engagement and Digital Engagement Manager to provide creative direction to meet objectives for all public-facing communications, including print, digital, and video assets.
Execute on multi-channel campaigns, ensuring the alignment of communications and messaging across all channels, including print, digital, and video assets.
Gather customer and market insights to inform outreach strategies, increase customer conversions, and generate more qualified leads.
Identify effectiveness and impact of current marketing initiatives with tracking and analysis, and optimize accordingly.
Provide guidance to our public relations and social media team on key product features/benefits, unique selling propositions, other differentiators.
Participate in planning and strategy for annual industry conferences and exhibits.
Occasional travel required.
Education/Training/Experience Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business, or related field
2 years or related experience preferred
Excellent computer skills; proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong copywriting and content creation skills
Proven experience developing marketing plans and campaigns
Strong project management, multitasking, and decision-making skills
Metrics-driven marketing mind with eye for creativity - experience with market analysis a plus
Strict adherence to company philosophy/mission statement
Strong project management skills with ability to supervise multiple projects
Preferred Qualifications
Proficiency with online marketing and social media strategy
Experience with Google ad words campaigns and Google Analytics reporting
Willingness and ability to travel (limited)
