Kentucky has the highest cancer rate in the nation. In Louisville the James Graham Brown Cancer Center, a non-profit research facility, is conducting important clinical trials to find a cure. To bring visibility to their work, the JGBCC partnered with Scoppechio Advertising who pulled in Benjamin Moore Paints to create a unique, one-day community event called Splat Out Cancer.
Imagine being able to launch a balloon filled with paint and splat it against the side of a five-story building. Now imagine that when you do, you’ll be raising money to help find a cure for cancer, while also creating a beautiful, permanent piece of community art. That’s what thousands of people did on August 29, 2015, in downtown Louisville at Splat Out Cancer, sponsored by Benjamin Moore Paints. In just a few hours this event generated over $100,000 for the James Graham Brown Cancer Center and earning over 21 million media impressions. Today it remains a lasting piece of art that serves as a daily reminder of the important work being done at the center.
