Louisville’s premier creative competition recognizes local companies and organizations each year

Louisville, Ky. (December 5, 2018)– Today, the American Advertising Federation – Louisville announced a call for entries for The 2019 American Advertising (ADDY) Awards – Louisville’s premier creative competition recognizing outstanding work in the areas of advertising and marketing. Formerly the Louie Awards, AAF- Louisville will host this competition for the 45th consecutive year, presenting awards to winners at a gala in February.

While local advertising, marketing, and public relations firms submit entries each year, the competition is open to any organization, nonprofit, school, or other entity, seeking to showcase exemplary creative work from the 2018 calendar year.

“Since taking on the role of President this year, I’ve been blown away by the caliber of creative projects coming out of Louisville’s communications industry,” said Chris Nation, President of AAF – Louisville. “From agencies, to freelancers, to local nonprofits, Louisville shines among other cities for first-rate creative ad work. As an organization, we look forward to celebrating that work each year.”

This is the second year the event is being held under the new name The ADDY Awards, a change the organization made to ensure the local award name was consistent with the district and national level awards. “The ADDYs” are awarded in two categories – Gold and Silver. There are also special categories including The People’s Choice Award which is determined on the night of the gala.

Winning an ADDY is the first step in the three-tiered American Advertising Awards process. The second step is the District 5 competition, with winners competing against other local winners from Kentucky, Ohio, and West Virginia. District winners will be eligible to move to the third tier of the competition for a chance to be recognized on a national level.

The deadline for entries is January 10, 2019, at 5:00 pm. The awards gala will take place on February 28, 2019.
