The main role of the Account Manager is to support their clients, ensuring that relationships remain healthy and profitable. The AM will assist the client with their overall marketing strategy, understand their needs and provide marketing solutions.



Account Manager
The main role of the Account Manager is to support the Senior Account Staff and be responsible for their accounts, ensuring that client relationships remain healthy and profitable. The AM should understand how to assist the client with their overall marketing strategy, understand the client’s needs and provide the client with solutions based on state- of-the-account, industry, competitive landscape and annual budgets/planning.


Include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Is the contact for the Agency and clients on all assigned projects:
    • Owns meetings and thinks proactively about client needs
    • Understands how to properly follow up and knows what actions are needed to move things along

  • Becomes an expert on client’s products, services and/or specialty:
    • Understands the market and target audience(s)
    • Understands the client’s marketing objectives in terms of sales, market share and competitive products

  • Strengthens Agency relationship by:
    • Becoming the go-to resource
    • Asking the right questions and leading insightful, real-time dialogue with the client
    • Consistently provides timely and thorough recaps, follow-ups, POVs, competitive analysis, etc.
    • Stays up-to-date with best practices in emerging technology (Lab), digital, creative and trends in client’s industry/category

  • Displays a firm understanding of the client team’s structure, hierarchy and political realities
  • Acts as an ambassador for the brand – both the client’s and the Agency’s
  • Begins to master actionable and detailed creative/project briefs and presents work confidently and persuasively
  • Excels in written and verbal communication, presentation and deck-creation skills
  • Understands and manages the larger financial picture and impacts on contribution margins/revenue targets
  • Has a deep understanding of Power processes and works with the PM to efficiently get projects through the Agency
  • Understands Agency services and capabilities
  • Exhibits solid writing skills in daily internal and external communication, with the ability to effectively convey point of view
  • Can effectively understand analytics and works with analytics team to influence actionable insights
  • Has effective time-management and organization skills and the flexibility to adapt quickly to changes
  • If applicable, manages, mentors and trains AC(s)
  • Assists Senior Account Staff when needed
  • Completes timesheets daily
