WAVE 3 News is the NBC affiliate for Louisville, KY. We are Kentucky's first television station, and we lead the way in connecting the people of WAVE Country. We offer nearly 60 hours of local television news per week, 40 hours of live programming in the field throughout the week of the Kentucky Derby, and coverage on digital, social, and OTT channels throughout the day.
Job Summary/Description:
WAVE 3 News is looking for a multi-talented hybrid producer who can run our weekend assignment desk and also be a digital content producer two days a week. We're looking for an organized multi-tasker who can accomplish a high volume of work, largely unsupervised, in a fast-paced environment.
The successful candidate will be responsible for (but not limited to) the following:
* Answer phones, work contacts to develop stories
* Assign, route and re-route crews in the field
* Communicate updates/changes to team members in a fast-paced environment
* Produce engaging digital content (stories, videos, etc.) for website, app, social media
* Set up/distribute live events on our multi-platform streaming channels
* Proof reporter stories
Qualifications/Requirements:
* At least two years newsroom experience
* Four-year college degree
* Strong, accurate writer
* Solid news judgment
* Experience with ENPS, Edius and ARC would be a plus
* Experience producing digital content, stories, video, etc.
* Experience producing engaging social media posts

Education Required - Bachelors or better.
Experience Required - 2 years: newsroom experience
