Gray owns and/or operates television stations and leading digital properties in 93 television markets including the first or second highest rated television station in 86 markets. WAVE 3 News is the NBC affiliate for Louisville, KY. We are Kentucky's first television station, and we lead the way in connecting the people of WAVE Country. We offer nearly 50 hours of local television news per week, 40 hours of live programming in the field throughout the week of the Kentucky Derby, and much more coverage on our web, mobile, OTT and social channels throughout the year.

JOB SUMMARY
*Qualified applicants will have television newsroom experience.
*We’re seeking an assignment editor with a diverse skill set who can multi-task, especially in breaking news situations.
*Enthusiastic assignment editors must have a four-year college degree, strong news judgment and the ability to juggle
multiple tasks, including assigning news crews and enterprising stories from multiple sources.
*The ideal assignment editor can thrive in a breaking news environment in which priorities and
assignments change frequently.

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES
* Co-ordinate news crew assignments during daily coverage and breaking news situations
* Enterprise stories from traditional and social media sources
* Develop relationships with official and other sources in the Louisville market, and with fellow Gray
television stations
* Pitch compelling stories in daily editorial meetings

Requirements:
* At least two years newsroom experience
* Four-year college degree
* Strong, accurate writer
* Solid news judgment
* Experience with ENPS, Edius and ARC would be a plus
* Ability to work various shifts and serve on call as assigned
* Clean driving record
