WAVE 3 News is the NBC affiliate for Louisville, KY. We are Kentucky's first television station, and we lead the way in connecting the people of WAVE Country. We offer 60 hours of local television news per week, 40 hours of live programming in the field throughout the week of the Kentucky Derby, and coverage on digital, social, and OTT channels throughout the day.
WAVE 3 News is looking for a creative leader to guide the station's digital team and oversee its expanding menu of digital platforms. The qualified candidate thrives on the urgency of breaking news and owning each day's big story, but also has a track record of innovation.
Essential responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Recruit, hire, develop, and lead digital staff
- Develop and continuously update a digital strategic plan
- Emphasize OTT content, planning, promotion, and execution
- Work with news and marketing departments on strategy and promotion of daily content
- Contribute news and social content
- Work with on-air talent to grow their contributions to digital, social platforms
- Monitor competitor platforms to make sure WAVE is always winning
- Stay current on digital trends, tools; share with staff, offer training
- Experience in leading a digital news team and developing a digital strategic plan
- Track record in growing digital news products and OTT development
- Proven ability to innovate
- Understanding of digital measurement tools
- College degree in digital journalism or related field
