The Marketing Director is responsible for leading the marketing efforts for The Outlet Shoppes of the Bluegrass.
JOB DESCRIPTION
The Marketing Director is responsible for leading the marketing efforts for The Outlet Shoppes of the Bluegrass nd to achieve the center’s business goals. These responsibilities include coordinating, overseeing and implementing all aspects of the center’s marketing plan, including special event, advertising, public relations, online content, digital messaging, and sales promotions. The Director is also responsible for developing, nurturing and fostering productive relationships with center merchants, area hotels, convention and visitors bureaus, and local businesses/corporations to build incremental sales and traffic. Superior fiscal management is mandatory. Position works closely with the center General Manager and reports to the head of Marketing.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Partner with creative and media planning agencies to implement a strategic, overall marketing and communications program for The Outlet Shoppes of the Bluegrass to include advertising, special events, public relations, digital/social, tenant relations. Applicant should have proven relationships with key media and experience working with creative agencies.
Owns the responsibility for supporting and activating all consumer promotional concepts, events, services, and marketing programs that drive sales/traffic and NOI growth.
Oversees the digital footprint for the property, constantly monitors center website; creates effective social media programs and executes other digital programs as assigned.
Evaluate the effectiveness of key marketing activities in terms of sales results, consumer response, publicity value, tenant success and community support.
Development of annual marketing budget; responsible for managing budget through reforecasting.
Develops strong retailer relations by establishing a thorough understanding of the retailer business, and encouraging retailer participation in center marketing programs.
Understand and meet legal requirements for special events, vendor contracts, volunteer guidelines, etc
Must be available to work evenings and weekends as the center holds a large number of weekend events.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
Preferred: Bachelor’s degree with emphasis in marketing, advertising, journalism or business administration.
Five to ten years in retail and/or shopping center marketing experience.
Language and Communication Skills
Strong written and verbal skills. Ability to write, read, analyze and interpret reports, business correspondence and procedures manuals.
Ability to effectively create and propose sponsorship proposals to local and national companies.
Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, verbal, diagram, report or schedule form.
Strategic planning and thinking.
Creativity and innovation.
Must excel in verbal presentations to groups, including retailers, concierge groups, local businesses and corporations.
Must be able to work flexible hours when required, including evenings and weekends.
Other Skills and Abilities
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, Web/Internet/e-mail technologies and general computing technology.
Ability to negotiate with outside vendors to achieve working relationships beneficial to the center and its initiatives. Certified knowledge of Google Analytics and social media a plus.
Travel in and around the Louisville and greater Kentucky metro area required
May be required to travel for business purposes up to 10% of the time.
