ABOUT STATION
WAVE 3 News is the NBC affiliate for Louisville, KY. We are Kentucky's first television station, and we lead the way in connecting the people of WAVE Country. We offer nearly 50 hours of local television news per week, 40 hours of live programming in the field throughout the week of the Kentucky Derby, and much more coverage on our web, mobile, OTT and social channels throughout the year.
Our goals for every news story: make our viewers smarter, make them laugh or cry, and make our community better.

JOB SUMMARY
Qualified applicants will have experience producing and posting articles, slideshows and videos (live and on-demand) to digital platforms such as desktop and mobile.
On a given shift, the producer we choose may do anything from producing a story in the field to line producing a newscast.
We’re seeking a multi-screen-minded wizard with a diverse skill set and a comfort working in a fast-paced newsroom environment.
A strong candidate is one who’s mindful of live and on-demand video opportunities for all platforms, especially our increasingly important OTT product on ROKU, Amazon Fire and soon-to-launch Apple TV.
Enthusiastic producers with a four-year college degree, strong news judgment and the ability to juggle multiple tasks at once without much supervision are encouraged to apply.
The ideal multi-platform producer is one with prior newsroom experience who can thrive in a breaking news environment in which priorities and assignments change frequently. Process and technology evolve frequently as well, so being a quick learner helps, too.
Our shop is big on training and helping young producers develop their skill sets and keeping them on a growth track.
In that this is a television newsroom, flexibility with scheduling is a must.

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES
* Produce newscasts and digital content as assigned
* Work with director to time and execute newscasts from control room in a fast paced, breaking news environment
* Collaborate with reporters to manage and develop stories from concept to air
* Pitch compelling stories in daily editorial meetings

Requirements
* At least two years newsroom experience
* Four-year college degree
* Strong, accurate writer
* Solid news judgment
* Experience with ENPS, Edius and ARC would be a plus
* Ability to work various shifts and serve on call as assigned
* Clean driving record
