JOB SUMMARY

WAVE 3 News, the Gray Television NBC affiliate in Louisville, KY has an immediate opening for a full time Director/Technical Director.

 

JOB DESCRIPTION

WAVE 3 news is seeking an experienced, energetic newscast Director/TD. A successful candidate will work with producers to coordinate and execute fast paced newscasts with multiple live shots in an intense graphic and animation environment. Applicants should have familiarity with multiple ME switchers. While the primary role of this position is directing a newscast, this position is often called on to fill other production roles as needed. These positions include operating an audio console, running a chyron graphics system, operating a studio camera/floor directing, and serving as a master control operator. An ideal candidate for this position must thrive in a live production atmosphere and be able to react quickly to any issues that arise. The hours do vary and may include early mornings, late nights, and weekends. Qualified candidates should apply online. Drug screen required.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
*Directing/Technical Directing newscasts
*Coordinating camera and talent moves throughout the newscast and communicating relevant information to talent and director
*Operate studio cameras
*Operate audio console
*Operate chyron graphics system
*Contribute to digital platforms(wave3.com, WAVE 3 News OTT products, social media, etc)

Requirements:
Must be able to thrive in a fast paced constantly changing atmosphere. Experience with production automation is a plus. Previous directing/television experience preferred
