JOB SUMMARY

The public relations intern will support the BCH public relations team in providing media relations, community relations, corporate communications, event execution and other communication services to our regional and national clients.

 

JOB DESCRIPTION

BCH Agency is a full-service advertising and public relations agency headquartered in Louisville, Ky. The public relations intern will support the BCH public relations team in providing media relations, community relations, corporate communications, event execution and other communication services to our regional and national clients.

Responsibilities:

  • Press Release and Collateral Material Writing: Assist in drafting press releases, media advisories and other collateral materials to effectively communicate key messages to target audiences
  • Media Pitching: Support the PR team in developing and executing media pitches to secure coverage
  • Media List Development and Maintenance: Help develop and maintain media lists, ensuring accurate and up-to-date contact information for journalists, bloggers and other influencers
  • Media Coverage Tracking and Reporting: Track client media coverage and compile reports summarizing key metrics and outcomes; provide analysis and insights to enhance future media strategies
  • Event Participation: Participate in company and client events, providing support in planning, coordination and execution; this may include managing media attendance, preparing press materials and assisting with on-site logistics
  • Research and Analysis: Conduct research on industry trends, competitor activities and media landscape changes; compile findings into actionable insights for PR strategies
  • Client and Team Support: Assist with client updates, status reports and presentations; help maintain internal trackers and shared files to ensure deliverables and deadlines are met
  • Collaboration and Communication: Collaborate effectively with team members, sharing ideas and insights to enhance PR initiatives; communicate regularly with internal stakeholders and external partners to ensure alignment and synergy

Qualifications:

  • Currently enrolled in or recently graduated with a Bachelor's or Master's degree program, preferably in Public Relations, Communications, Journalism or a related field
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with exceptional attention to detail
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize assignments in a fast-paced agency environment
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to work independently as well as part of a team
  • Creative thinking and a proactive approach to problem-solving
  • Previous experience in public relations, journalism or related fields is a plus, but not required
  • Reside in Louisville, Ky. and be available to work in-office 15-20 hours per week
