A Public Relation Specialist is an expert in, and the client's trusted resource for, the strategic balance of earned, owned and paid media to elevate a brand's image as well as navigating online opportunities.

 

JOB DESCRIPTION

A Bisig Impact Group PUBLIC RELATIONS SPECIALIST is an expert in, and the client’s trusted resource for, the strategic balance of earned, owned and paid media to elevate a brand’s image. The position requires an equal comfort with navigating online opportunities such as booking clients on appropriate podcasts or getting mentions in relevant blogs, as pitching stories to TV stations and publications.

The PUBLIC RELATIONS SPECIALIST works with the Bisig Chairman and Executive VP of Strategy & Accounts to keep the client’s name/brand/events top of mind and their image in the most positive light. They are energetic, highly personable, and amazingly nimble at finding story angles that the media cannot resist.

They also have the comfort and ability to work directly with clients on PR-specific clients, and even handle some PR-specific clients on their own.

OUR IDEAL APPLICANT

  • Has at least three years of public relations experience
  • Is a bold, strategic thinker, and an excellent writer for everything from press releases to sponsored content articles
  • Has an understanding and curiosity of inbound marketing strategies
  • Has an understanding and curiosity of modern marketing tactics (Branding, Search, Social Media)
  • Is a quick learner and thrives in a rapidly changing environment
  • Embraces client service, teamwork and project management
  • Has a degree and expertise in Public Relations, Communications, Journalism or related field

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Planning and implementing publicity strategies, campaigns, and social media calendars
  • Developing public relations strategies for current and existing products, launches, and promotions
  • Creating or supplying calendar to the content team for on-trend, relevant, and compelling social media status updates and blogs with links to products or promotions
  • Developing and producing high-quality, informative, and interesting press releases, press kits, and related materials
  • Maintaining good relationships with the media
  • Serving as a public face of the company in interviews and press conferences
  • Organizing promotional events, press conferences, tours, visits, and exhibitions
  • Analyzing media coverage and developing responses when needed
  • Developing relationships with industry leaders or influencers through social media
  • Creating presentations, articles, reports, and information for websites, blogs, and social media accounts
  • Managing PR budgets, deadlines, objectives, and schedules
  • Developing monthly, quarterly and annual media activity reports
  • Keeping annual calendars of events, targets, and activities organized and updated
  • Works closely with the Bisig Chairman to assist in client/schedule organization and ultimately speaks on behalf of the Chairman

COMPENSATION & BENEFIT SUMMARY

  • $45,000-$65,000, commensurate with experience
  • 36 hr / week; (some remote work available)
  • 20 paid personal days
