JOB DESCRIPTION

Our employer is an exciting design agency startup with a major client already booked. They are seeking a creative Lead Animator to join their growing team. This position reports to the head of Content and requires ideation, development, creation and execution of all video animation, ensuring deliverables are aligned with their client expectations and set deadlines. Key to the role is the ability to have unique ideas when it comes to video animation and offer various solutions to the client’s animation requirements.  

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Create all video animations for both internal work and external clients.
  • Design models, backgrounds, sets, graphic packages and integrate into edited video content. Work to production deadlines and meet clients’ commercial requirements.
  • Work with internal teams to give input using expertise in the ideation process for external client work.
  • Establish and develop best practice with any freelance animators.
  • Work on multiple projects at any one time.
  • When required, be a point of contact for liaising with external suppliers.

REQUIREMENTS:
  • Possess inherent artistic and creative ability.
  • Be extremely accurate with great attention to detail.
  • High level working knowledge of wide variety of animation software, including Adobe Premiere, After Effects, Illustrator, Photoshop, Premier Rush, In Design, Lightroom, Adobe XD, Cinema 4D.
  • Ability to work with others and/or take direction.
  • Be extremely flexible bearing in mind the clients’ needs.
  • Be able to adhere to a brief and offer advice where necessary.
  • Ability to give concise and constructive critiques of other animators’ work.
  • Good communication and storytelling skills.
  • Previous experience in an agency environment would be favourable.
  • Equivalent tertiary education.
  • At least five years experience in a senior animation role.
  • Proven track record in creating excellent animation work from concept to execution.
