JOB DESCRIPTION

Dealer Trade Network is a Louisville-based organization that provides inventory solutions to new car dealers. We’ve formalized the new car wholesale trading market, digitizing transactions and technologies that assist with inventory efficiency optimization for their floor plans. Our proprietary solutions make it easier and more convenient for dealerships to wholesale inventory nationwide.

We seek a highly skilled and experienced senior applications engineer to join our dynamic team at Dealer Trade Network. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in software engineering and be able to provide technical expertise to our customers in the automotive industry. The senior applications engineer will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing software solutions that meet the specific needs of our automotive clients.

Job Purpose:

As a Senior Applications Engineer, your primary responsibility will be to lead the design, development, and implementation of custom software solutions for the automotive industry. You will work closely with clients to understand their business needs and collaborate with a team of talented software developers and engineers to create sophisticated software applications that integrate with innovative automotive systems and technologies. In addition, you will provide technical support and training to clients and internal teams on automotive software solutions, stay informed about emerging trends and technologies in the automotive industry, and assist in the architectural design, creation, and maintenance of cloud computing systems.

Tasks & Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with clients in the automotive industry to understand their business needs and design software solutions that meet those needs.
  • Work closely with software developers and other engineers to create high-quality software applications that integrate with automotive systems and technologies.
  • Conduct thorough testing and troubleshooting to ensure software applications meet or exceed customer expectations and comply with automotive industry standards and regulations.
  • Conduct security & compliance audits of AWS cloud systems.
  • Assist in the architectural design, creation, and maintenance of cloud computing systems.
  • Stay current with emerging trends and technologies in the automotive industry and incorporate them into our software solutions.
  • Provide technical support and training to customers and internal teams on automotive software solutions.

  • A commitment to continuous learning and professional development to stay updated with emerging trends and technologies.

Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of experience in software engineering, with a focus on application development in the automotive industry
  • Advanced knowledge of programming languages such as C#, JavaScript, Python, or other relevant languages.
  • Experience with cloud computing platforms such as AWS and Azure.
  • Proven ability to design and develop complex software solutions that integrate with automotive systems and technologies.

Education:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent work experience
