JOB SUMMARY
This position is responsible for developing and executing talent/workforce recruitment strategies for the 15-county region and overseeing graphic design for GLI creative pieces that promote GLI products and services to its members and the community.
JOB DESCRIPTION
Under minimal supervision, responsible for developing and executing talent/workforce recruitment strategies for the 15-county region and overseeing graphic design for GLI creative pieces that promote GLI products and services to its members and the community. Works in a cross-functional team environment in support of GLI initiatives, events, programs, and sales products that reinforce the GLI brand experience. Responsible for development, execution, and oversight of the Live in Lou Talent Attraction initiative, including management of the platform, strategy, and all talent attraction team members. Develops and executes the strategies focused on workforce and education, including the Academies of Louisville relationship and associated staff members.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND TASKS:
- Manage and Lead a Talent Attraction team to develop, direct and execute programs focused on talent attraction and development initiatives.
- Design, build and maintain our social media presence on Live in Lou.
- Work with selected marketing agencies and other vendor partners to develop and execute marketing and brand strategies to recruit and retain talent in Greater Louisville.
- Build and execute marketing plans for employers to help them attract talent to their companies. This includes having a strong grasp of current marketing tools and strategies and being able to lead integrated digital marketing campaigns from concept to execution.
- Engage local organizations, corporations, and influencers through a mix of intentional brand promotion, social media, traditional marketing methods and the Live in Lou talent attraction toolkit.
- Strategically identify ways to position GLI as the leader in talent attraction and retention for the 15 county region.
- Serve as an in-house expert on talent, education, and workforce issues across the region.
- Plan and execute all web, SEO/SEM, marketing database, email, social media and display advertising campaigns including content development and curation.
- Through management of a graphic design specialist, responsible for graphic needs and design of GLI creative materials (including electronic marketing, video, flyer, and printed pieces such as brochures, programs, and reports). Must work cross-departmentally leading the team to meet internal deadlines.
- Collaborate with both in-house and outside agencies; understand the needs and specs for digital and print design within GLI brand standards.
- Collaborate with the Senior Director of Communications and Public Relations on marketing strategies.
- Serve as the lead on the Academies of Louisville partnership which includes brokering relationships with workforce and public school partners and recruiting businesses to partner with JCPS.
- Develop relationships that coordinate strategic partners and develop structures to work as the convener of private business to engage in talent, workforce, and education initiatives.
- Lead GLI’s effort to be the convener of private business to engage in education and workforce initiatives and position GLI as the central point of connectivity between talent pipelines and employers.
- Oversee and maintain relationships with area schools, universities and strategic community partners through outreach strategies.
- Implement workforce development strategies to help better align supply and demand within key industry clusters while maintaining a lens of equity and inclusion.
- Engage in strategic planning and gap analysis to identify and implement innovative approaches to engaging the business community in workforce development, local talent attraction and retention support including a comprehensive internship initiative and an employer best practices program.
- Manage and lead a team to develop, direct and execute programs focused workforce development and industry connectivity.
- Serve as a program manager for events related to talent attraction, retention, education, and workforce.
- Perform other duties as assigned
WORKING CONDITIONS:
This work is performed in a moderately noisy office environment, which can include stressful situations. May be required to drive at night or in inclement weather from time to time.
EFFORT:
Sitting for long periods of time at a computer terminal. Must be able to see, hear and speak. Movements frequently and regularly required using the wrists, hands, and/or fingers.
Written and oral communications skills.
MACHINES, TOOLS, EQUIPMENT:
Computer, printer/fax/scanner/copier, calculator, telephone, van or car
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's degree plus three (5) years of marketing and management experience and three (3) years of talent and workforce experience. A combination of education, experience and training may be substituted when competency in the position is demonstrated.
Must be able to organize and coordinate multiple projects. Must maintain a valid driver’s license.
Must be able to pass any required drug test and must be able to maintain the confidentiality of any information s/he encounters.

SPECIALIZED SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:
The incumbent must have experience in Adobe Suite (InDesign, Canva, Photoshop and Illustrator)
Experience with the following types of software and/or Windows based applications is preferred: Adobe Design, Microsoft Office, databases, Internet, e-mail.
