WAVE 3 News is looking for a dynamic anchor and reporter who digs, develops sources and embraces all aspects of the storytelling process - anchoring weekend newscasts, enterprising stories, shooting, writing, editing, and presenting live digital storytelling.

About WAVE:
WAVE 3 News is the NBC affiliate for Louisville, KY with no syndicated programming. We live up to our brand of More. Local. Now. We are Kentucky's first television station, and lead the way in connecting the people of WAVE Country. We offer nearly 60 hours of local television news per week, 40 hours of live programming in the field throughout the week of the Kentucky Derby, and coverage on digital, social, and OTT channels throughout the day.
Job Summary/Description:
WAVE 3 News wants to uncover news, not just cover it. We are looking for a dynamic anchor and reporter who digs, develops sources and embraces all aspects of the storytelling process - anchoring weekend newscasts, enterprising stories, shooting, writing, editing, and presenting live Digital storytelling is a key component of our journalistic duties, so candidates must be skilled in using digital and social tools to enhance stories.
Responsibilities include, but not limited to:
- Anchor weekend evening newscasts and fill on other newscasts, as needed
- Report three days a week
- Develop and pitch unique enterprise stories daily
- Shoot, write, edit, and present compelling stories, either solo or with a photographer
- Optimize story presentation for each WAVE 3 News platform
- Participate in daily editorial decisions and long-term strategic newscast initiatives
Qualifications:
- At least two years experience as an anchor and multimedia journalist
- Dynamic anchoring skills
- Strong writing skills and editorial judgment
- Ability to shoot and edit on deadline
- Understanding of digital and social platforms
- Clean Driving Record
